Text messages from Homera
Last updated 2026-08-09
This page shows how somebody turns on texts from Homera. You see the real screen at each step, and the way to turn texts off again.
Homera is not sending texts yet. The screens below are live in the app now. Verify a number and you are set for the day texts start. Email carries every reminder until then.
Who gets a text
Only a person signed in to Homera gets a text. They add their own number and agree first. Nobody can sign up anyone else. A housemate who has not joined Homera gets email.
The texts are about your own home. They cover things like your part of a bill, a nudge before the pay-by day, and a note when all the shares are in.
How you turn texts on
1. Open Notifications and type your number
In the app, your name opens Notifications. It holds a card for texts. Texts stay off until you verify a number.
2. Read what you are agreeing to, then tick the box
Before a text is sent, the screen lays out what Homera texts about and how often. It says rates may apply, and how to stop. It links the terms and the privacy policy. You tick the box yourself, and it starts empty.
3. Confirm the code we text you
Homera texts a code to the number you typed. Entering it proves the number is yours. Nobody can sign up a number they do not hold.
4. Your number shows as verified
That is the whole flow. The same card lets you change the number later, or turn texts off entirely.
The consent language, in full
These are the words on step two, exactly as the app shows them. Homera records which version you agreed to, and this is version 2026-08-10.
What you're agreeing to
- Homera texts you about your home: your part of a bill, a reminder before it's due, and a note when everyone has paid.
- That's a few texts a month for most homes. It depends on how many bills your home tracks.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Text STOP any time to turn texts off, or text HELP if you need a hand.
- We never share or sell your number.

Yes, text me about my home at this number.
The box starts empty. Nobody is opted in by default, and the button that sends the code stays off until the person ticks it themselves.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any Homera text and the texts stop. Reply HELP and you get a reply with the way to reach us. You can also turn texts off in the app, under Notifications.
Frequency, rates, and your number
Most homes get a few texts a month, and it depends on how many bills the home tracks. Message and data rates may apply. We never share or sell mobile numbers.
The Privacy Policy says the same in full, along with everything else we hold. Questions go to our contact page.
